Based on a comparison of 140 countries in 2015, Qatar ranked the highest in energy use in terms of kg of oil equivalent per capita with 19,903 kg followed by Iceland and Trinidad and Tobago. On the other end of the scale was South Sudan with 62.4 kg, Niger with 149 kg and Bangladesh with 227 kg.
