Who Consumes the Most of Energy per Capita?

Based on a comparison of 140 countries in 2015, Qatar ranked the highest in energy use in terms of kg of oil equivalent per capita with 19,903 kg followed by Iceland and Trinidad and Tobago. On the other end of the scale was South Sudan with 62.4 kg, Niger with 149 kg and Bangladesh with 227 kg.

Average energy use in terms of kg of oil equivalent per capita reached 1,919 kg in 2015 in the World according to World Bank / EIA. This is 0.7 % more than in the previous year and 8.51 % more than 10 years ago.

Historically, average energy use in terms of kg of oil equivalent per capita reached an all time high of 1,919 kg in 2015 and an all time low of 1,335 kg in 1971. The average annual growth amounted to 0.829 % since 1960.
