Bank Negara's capital adequacy ratio reached 19.7% at the end of 2019, up from 18.5% compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank’s capital ratio hit an all time high of 30.0% in 2013 and an all time low of 13.6% in 2008.

The Tier 1 ratio amounted to 18.6% at the end of 2019, up from 17.4% compared to a year earlier.

Bank's loan to deposit ratio reached 91.0% at the end of 2019, up from 90.3% when compared to the previous year. Some 10 years ago, loan to deposit ratio of the bank amounted to 60.8%.
