Based on a comparison of 62 countries in 2021, Russia ranked the highest in railways transport freight measured by mil tonne-km with 2,544,828 mil tonne-km followed by USA and India. On the other end of the scale was Albania with 26.0 mil tonne-km, Ireland with 74.0 mil tonne-km and Luxembourg with 162 mil tonne-km.
