Youth dependency ratio fell 4.30% to 16.0% in Thailand in 2024, according to the National Statistical Office.
Historically, youth dependency ratio in Thailand reached an all time high of 87.5% in 1966 and an all time low of 16.0% in 2024. When compared to Thailand's main peers, youth dependency ratio in Cambodia amounted to 39.6%, 43.1% in Laos, 27.8% in Malaysia and 25.1% in Myanmar in 2024.
Thailand has been ranked 164th within the group of 174 countries we follow in terms of youth dependency ratio, 25 places below the position seen 10 years ago.
