Youth dependency ratio fell 3.34% to 27.1% in Iran in 2024, according to the National Statistical Office.
Historically, youth dependency ratio in Iran reached an all time high of 85.7% in 1964 and an all time low of 27.1% in 2024. When compared to Iran's main peers, youth dependency ratio in Iraq amounted to 53.9%, 39.9% in Pakistan and 32.0% in Turkmenistan in 2024.
Iran has been ranked 99th within the group of 174 countries we follow in terms of youth dependency ratio, 13 places above the position seen 10 years ago.
