Youth dependency ratio fell 2.79% to 27.3% in Costa Rica in 2024, according to the National Statistical Office.

Historically, youth dependency ratio in Costa Rica reached an all time high of 92.9% in 1963 and an all time low of 27.3% in 2024. When compared to Costa Rica's main peers, youth dependency ratio in Guatemala amounted to 49.7%, 47.1% in Honduras, 43.8% in Nicaragua and 37.9% in Panama in 2024.
