Workers' remittances received fell 32.0% to USD 180 mil in Malawi in 2023, according to the National Statistical Office.

Historically, workers' remittances received in Malawi reached an all time high of USD 319 mil in 2021 and an all time low of USD 0.523 mil in 1995. When compared to Malawi's main peers, workers' remittances received in Mozambique amounted to USD 255 mil, USD 803 mil in South Africa, USD 759 mil in Tanzania and USD 246 mil in Zambia in 2023.
