Historically, workers' remittances paid in Bhutan reached an all time high of USD 92.3 mil in 2011 and an all time low of USD 25.8 mil in 2021. When compared to Bhutan's main peers, workers' remittances paid in Bangladesh amounted to USD 168 mil, USD 20,019 mil in China, USD 12,072 mil in India and USD 63.4 mil in Nepal in 2024.
Bhutan has been ranked 90th within the group of 98 countries we follow in terms of workers' remittances paid, 37 places above the position seen 10 years ago.
