Wood pulp production rose 13.9% to 575,000 kt in South Korea in 2018, according to Faostat.

Historically, wood pulp production in South Korea reached an all time high of 625,000 kt in 1996 and an all time low of 18,800 kt in 1962. When compared to South Korea's main peers, wood pulp production in China amounted to 13,272,000 kt, 56,000 kt in Dem. People's Republic of Korea, 8,806,000 kt in Japan and 540,000 kt in Vietnam in 2018.
