Historically, wood pulp production in Hungary reached an all time high of 105,000 kt in 1978 and an all time low of 5,000 kt in 1996. When compared to Hungary's main peers, wood pulp production in Austria amounted to 2,083,266 kt, 652,911 kt in Czech Republic, 1,371,000 kt in Poland and 685,861 kt in Slovakia in 2018.
