Historically, wood pulp production in Hungary reached an all time high of 82,000 kt in 1978 and an all time low of 5,000 kt in 1996. When compared to Hungary's main peers, wood pulp production in Austria amounted to 1,727,481 kt, 705,000 kt in Czech Republic, 1,155,108 kt in Poland and 718,915 kt in Slovakia in 2017.
