Wood pulp production fell 14.0% to 9,389,000 kt in China in 2017, according to Faostat.

Historically, wood pulp production in China reached an all time high of 10,916,000 kt in 2016 and an all time low of 450,000 kt in 1961. When compared to China's main peers, wood pulp production in India amounted to 2,857,800 kt, 8,225,000 kt in Japan, 6,267,000 kt in Russia and 46,751,196 kt in USA in 2017.
