Wind capacity as a share of worldwide wind turbine capacity rose 11.0% to 0.041% in Iran in 2016, according to World Bank / EIA.

Historically, wind capacity as a share of worldwide wind turbine capacity in Iran reached an all time high of 0.118% in 1997 and an all time low of 0.031% in 2003.

Iran has been ranked 44th within the group of 44 countries we follow in terms of wind capacity as a share of worldwide wind turbine capacity, 11 places below the position seen 10 years ago.
