Based on a comparison of 155 countries in 2021, Rwanda ranked the highest in bean consumption per capita with 32.9 kg followed by Burundi and El Salvador. On the other end of the scale was Mongolia with 0.010 kg, Botswana with 0.010 kg and Nigeria with 0.010 kg.

Average bean consumption per capita reached 2.51 kg in 2021 in the World according to Faostat. This is 3.19 % less than in the previous year.

Historically, average bean consumption per capita reached an all time high of 3.15 kg in 1964 and an all time low of 2.18 kg in 2005. The average annual growth amounted to -0.308 % since 1961.
