Based on a comparison of 141 countries in 2023, Trinidad and Tobago ranked the highest in energy use in kg of oil equivalent per usd 1,000 of GDP with 358 kg followed by Turkmenistan and Dem. Republic of the Congo. On the other end of the scale was Ireland with 21.3 kg, Hong Kong with 24.5 kg and Malta with 25.2 kg.
