Which Country Produces the Most Olives?

Based on a comparison of 39 countries in 2022, Spain ranked the highest in olive production with 3,940 kt followed by Greece and Turkey. On the other end of the scale was Malta with 0.020 kt, Uzbekistan with 0.120 kt and Bosnia and Herzegovina with 0.304 kt.

Total olive production reached 21,450 kt in 2022 in the World according to Faostat. This is 9.55 % less than in the previous year and 16.7 % more than 10 years ago.

Historically, total olive production reached an all time high of 24,555 kt in 2018 and an all time low of 5,411 kt in 1962. The average annual growth amounted to 1.59 % since 1961.

The top ranked country, Spain, accounted for 18.4 % of olive production in the world. The top 3 countries hold a 46.4 % share while the ten largest countries some 88.7 % in 2022.
