Based on a comparison of 22 countries in 2022, France ranked the highest in hemp tow waste production with 121,720 tonnes followed by China and Dem. People's Republic of Korea. On the other end of the scale was Japan with 0.530 tonnes, Turkey with 8.34 tonnes and South Korea with 16.3 tonnes.
Total hemp tow waste production reached 247,064 tonnes in 2022 in the World according to Faostat. This is 11.3 % less than in the previous year and 41.1 % more than 10 years ago.
Historically, total hemp tow waste production reached an all time high of 368,373 tonnes in 1966 and an all time low of 75,496 tonnes in 2015. The average annual growth amounted to -0.317 % since 1961.
The top ranked country, France, accounted for 49.3 % of hemp tow waste production in the world. The top 3 countries hold a 75.1 % share while the ten largest countries some 97.7 % in 2022.
