Total production of dates reached 9,747,570 tonnes in 2022 in the World according to Faostat. This is 1.24 % less than in the previous year and 23.8 % more than 10 years ago.
Historically, total production of dates reached an all time high of 9,867,985 tonnes in 2021 and an all time low of 1,809,091 tonnes in 1962. The average annual growth amounted to 2.76 % since 1961.
The top ranked country, Egypt, accounted for 17.8 % of production of dates in the world. The top 3 countries hold a 47.1 % share while the ten largest countries some 88.8 % in 2022.
