Which Country Has the Most Listed Companies?

Based on a comparison of 73 countries in 2024, China ranked the highest in number of listed domestic companies with 11,231 followed by Canada and USA. On the other end of the scale was Rwanda with 5.00, Costa Rica with 9.00 and Armenia with 12.0.

Total number of listed domestic companies reached 47,019 in 2024 in the World according to OECD. This is 4.46 % less than in the previous year and 13.2 % more than 10 years ago.

Historically, total number of listed domestic companies reached an all time high of 52,289 in 2021 and an all time low of 13,328 in 1977. The average annual growth amounted to 2.55 % since 1975.

The top ranked country, China, accounted for 22.4 % of number of listed domestic companies in the world. The top 3 countries hold a 38.9 % share while the ten largest countries some 71.2 % in 2024.
