Which Country Drinks the Most Wine?

Based on a comparison of 144 countries in 2021, Italy ranked the highest in wine consumption with 2,994 Ml followed by USA and France. On the other end of the scale was Togo with -7.00 Ml, Qatar with 1.00 Ml and Belize with 1.00 Ml.

Total wine consumption reached 26,297 Ml in 2021 in the World according to Faostat. This is 1.89 % less than in the previous year and -6.06 % less than 10 years ago.

Historically, total wine consumption reached an all time high of 29,886 Ml in 1981 and an all time low of 20,963 Ml in 1961. The average annual growth amounted to 0.379 % since 1961.

The top ranked country, Italy, accounted for 11.4 % of wine consumption in the world. The top 3 countries hold a 32.6 % share while the ten largest countries some 69.4 % in 2021.
