Based on a comparison of 24 countries in 2022, Netherlands ranked the highest in number of mortgage loans as a percentage of total housing stock with 60.3% followed by Norway and Sweden. On the other end of the scale was Bulgaria with 1.74%, Greece with 8.19% and Italy with 11.0%.
