Historically, total dependency ratio in Nepal reached an all time high of 82.4% in 1990 and an all time low of 53.7% in 2024. When compared to Nepal's main peers, total dependency ratio in Bangladesh amounted to 52.6%, 37.7% in Bhutan, 44.2% in China and 46.6% in India in 2024.
