Historically, total coal consumption in Slovakia reached an all time high of 15,934 kt in 1993 and an all time low of 6,943 kt in 2014. When compared to Slovakia's main peers, total coal consumption in Austria amounted to 4,147 kt, 49,909 kt in Czech Republic, 11,801 kt in Hungary and 148,717 kt in Poland in 2015.
