Total coal consumption fell 3.30% to 68,071 kt in Taiwan in 2015, according to the National Statistical Office.
Historically, total coal consumption in Taiwan reached an all time high of 72,281 kt in 2007 and an all time low of 6,059 kt in 1981. When compared to Taiwan's main peers, total coal consumption in China amounted to 4,376,326 kt, 12,329 kt in Hong Kong and 24,258 kt in Philippines in 2015.
