Historically, total cigarette consumption in Slovakia reached an all time high of 9,700 mil in 1999 and an all time low of 6,300 mil in 2003. When compared to Slovakia's main peers, total cigarette consumption in Austria amounted to 12,290 mil, 14,070 mil in Czech Republic, 6,710 mil in Hungary and 34,560 mil in Poland in 2016.
