Historically, timber removals in the European Union reached an all time high of 462,514 '000 cbm in 2007 and an all time low of 255,424 '000 cbm in 1963. When compared to European Union's main peers, timber removals in China amounted to 339,683 '000 cbm, 21,328 '000 cbm in Japan, 205,507 '000 cbm in Russia and 412,917 '000 cbm in USA in 2015.
