Historically, tax revenue as a share of GDP in Greece reached an all time high of 27.7% in 2022 and an all time low of 12.5% in 1981. When compared to Greece's main peers, tax revenue as a share of GDP in Albania amounted to 17.8%, 20.5% in Bulgaria, 17.9% in Macedonia and 18.5% in Turkey in 2023.
