Historically, total spice consumption in India reached an all time high of 5,394 kt in 2021 and an all time low of 555 kt in 1961. When compared to India's main peers, total spice consumption in Bangladesh amounted to 870 kt, 703 kt in China, 349 kt in Pakistan and 155 kt in Sri Lanka in 2021.
