Historically, recovered paper production in Madagascar reached an all time high of 5,000 kt in 1993 and an all time low of 800 kt in 1997. When compared to Madagascar's main peers, recovered paper production in Mozambique amounted to 5,000 kt, 1,277,000 kt in South Africa, 6,000 kt in Swaziland and 2,000 kt in Tanzania in 2018.
