Public spending on education as a share of government expenditure rose 2.47% to 13.1% in Cameroon in 2023, according to World Bank.

Historically, public spending on education as a share of government expenditure in Cameroon reached an all time high of 21.4% in 2003 and an all time low of 11.7% in 2000. When compared to Cameroon's main peers, public spending on education as a share of government expenditure in Central African Republic amounted to 9.99%, 16.5% in Chad, 13.6% in Gabon and 4.40% in Nigeria in 2023.
