Historically, production of pulp for paper in South Korea reached an all time high of 625,000 kt in 1996 and an all time low of 18,800 kt in 1962. When compared to South Korea's main peers, production of pulp for paper in China amounted to 17,576,000 kt, 106,000 kt in Dem. People's Republic of Korea, 8,644,000 kt in Japan and 460,000 kt in Vietnam in 2018.
