Historically, production of pulp for paper in Hungary reached an all time high of 126,000 kt in 1978 and an all time low of 4,000 kt in 2004. When compared to Hungary's main peers, production of pulp for paper in Austria amounted to 1,654,339 kt, 452,502 kt in Czech Republic, 1,180,574 kt in Poland and 698,500 kt in Slovakia in 2016.
