Historically, production of cars as a share of worldwide production in the USA reached an all time high of 15.4% in 1997 and an all time low of 2.57% in 2023. When compared to USA's main peers, production of cars as a share of worldwide production in Canada amounted to 0.554%, 38.4% in China, 11.4% in Japan and 1.33% in Mexico in 2023.
