Price of cigarettes as a percentage of average U.S. price rose 13.2% to 51.8% in Sudan in 2016, according to the National Statistical Office.

Historically, price of cigarettes as a percentage of average U.S. price in Sudan reached an all time high of 51.8% in 2016 and an all time low of 30.0% in 2012. When compared to Sudan's main peers, price of cigarettes as a percentage of average U.S. price in Chad amounted to 19.8%, 17.6% in Egypt, 10.7% in Ethiopia and 17.9% in South Sudan in 2016.
