Price of cigarettes as a percentage of average U.S. price fell 6.88% to 32.7% in Morocco in 2016, according to the National Statistical Office.

Historically, price of cigarettes as a percentage of average U.S. price in Morocco reached an all time high of 47.2% in 2008 and an all time low of 32.3% in 2012. When compared to Morocco's main peers, price of cigarettes as a percentage of average U.S. price in Algeria amounted to 19.0%, 22.4% in Mauritania, 83.8% in Spain and 17.9% in Tunisia in 2016.
