Price of cigarettes as a percentage of average U.S. price fell 10.5% to 13.2% in Benin in 2016, according to the National Statistical Office.

Historically, price of cigarettes as a percentage of average U.S. price in Benin reached an all time high of 23.1% in 2008 and an all time low of 13.2% in 2016. When compared to Benin's main peers, price of cigarettes as a percentage of average U.S. price in Burkina Faso amounted to 17.1%, 13.2% in Niger, 10.9% in Nigeria and 13.2% in Togo in 2016.
