Portfolio investments rose 58.0% yoy to USD 1,135 mil in Hungary in 1Q2025, according to the National Statistical Office. This is 61.2% less than in the previous quarter.
Historically, portfolio investments in Hungary reached an all time high of USD 2,941 mil in 2Q2023 and an all time low of USD -1,941 mil in 3Q2011. When compared to Hungary's main peers, portfolio investments in Austria amounted to USD 14,275 mil, USD 2,223 mil in Czechia, USD 780 mil in Poland and USD 2,554 mil in Slovakia in 1Q2025.
Hungary has been ranked 36th within the group of 82 countries we follow in terms of portfolio investments, 66 places above the position seen 10 years ago.
