Population in cities of more than 1 million as a share of population fell 2.04% to 36.2% in Armenia in 2024, according to the National Statistical Office.
Historically, population in cities of more than 1 million as a share of population in Armenia reached an all time high of 36.9% in 2023 and an all time low of 28.9% in 1960. When compared to Armenia's main peers, population in cities of more than 1 million as a share of population in Azerbaijan amounted to 24.2%, 29.5% in Georgia, 25.2% in Iran and 38.9% in Turkey in 2024.
