Historically, paper and paperboard production in Egypt reached an all time high of 510,000 kt in 2018 and an all time low of 44,200 kt in 1961. When compared to Egypt's main peers, paper and paperboard production in Israel amounted to 262,000 kt, 6,000 kt in Libya, 1,186,000 kt in Saudi Arabia and 4,000 kt in Sudan in 2018.
