Number of cigarettes consumed per day per capita of 15+ years old fell 2.56% to 3.71 per day in Italy in 2016, according to the National Statistical Office.

Historically, number of cigarettes consumed per day per capita of 15+ years old in Italy reached an all time high of 5.75 per day in 2002 and an all time low of 3.71 per day in 2016. When compared to Italy's main peers, number of cigarettes consumed per day per capita of 15+ years old in Austria amounted to 4.59 per day, 2.27 per day in France, 4.44 per day in Slovenia and 3.59 per day in Switzerland in 2016.
