Non-Performing Loans (As % of Total Loans) rose 11.5% yoy to 1.56% in Hong Kong in 1Q2025

Non-performing loans as a share of bank loans rose 11.5% yoy to 1.56% in Hong Kong in 1Q2025, according to the National Central Bank. This is 0.056% more than in the previous quarter.

Historically, non-performing loans as a share of bank loans in Hong Kong reached an all time high of 1.58% in 2Q2009 and an all time low of 0.500% in 3Q2013.

Hong Kong has been ranked 39th within the group of 51 countries we follow in terms of non-performing loans as a share of bank loans, 73 places above the position seen 10 years ago.
