Non-performing loans as a share of bank loans fell 25.6% to 2.50% in India in 2024, according to the National Central Bank.
Historically, non-performing loans as a share of bank loans in India reached an all time high of 9.98% in 2017 and an all time low of 2.45% in 2008.
India has been ranked 48th within the group of 91 countries we follow in terms of non-performing loans as a share of bank loans, 10 places above the position seen 10 years ago.
