Net foreign assets rose 7.72% to RON 341 bil in Romania in 2024, according to the National Central Bank.
Historically, net foreign assets in Romania reached an all time high of RON 341 bil in 2024 and an all time low of RON -43.6 bil in 2011. When compared to Romania's main peers, net foreign assets in Bulgaria amounted to BGN 90.3 bil, HUF 16,609 bil in Hungary, MDL 119 bil in Moldova and UAH 2,406 bil in Ukraine in 2024.
Romania has been ranked 58th within the group of 122 countries we follow in terms of net foreign assets, 38 places above the position seen 10 years ago.
