Historically, net foreign assets in Uruguay reached an all time high of UYU 1,241 bil in 2021 and an all time low of UYU -14.8 bil in 2002. When compared to Uruguay's main peers, net foreign assets in Argentina amounted to ARS 20,978 bil, BRL 1,360 bil in Brazil, CLP 32,167 bil in Chile and PYG 63,589 bil in Paraguay in 2024.
Uruguay has been ranked 37th within the group of 122 countries we follow in terms of net foreign assets, 23 places above the position seen 10 years ago.
