Historically, net foreign assets in New Zealand reached an all time high of NZD 3.07 bil in 1987 and an all time low of NZD -106 bil in 2021. When compared to New Zealand's main peers, net foreign assets in Australia amounted to AUD -213 bil, IDR 1,982,817 bil in Indonesia, MYR 259 bil in Malaysia and PHP 6,948 bil in Philippines in 2024.
