Historically, net foreign assets in Malawi reached an all time high of MWK 433 bil in 2017 and an all time low of MWK -1,221 bil in 2023. When compared to Malawi's main peers, net foreign assets in Mozambique amounted to MZN 217 bil, ZAR 1,436 bil in South Africa, TNS 8,720 bil in Tanzania and ZMW 56.5 bil in Zambia in 2023.
