Historically, neonatal mortality per 1,000 live births in Kosovo reached an all time high of 44.9 in 1989 and an all time low of 6.80 in 2023. When compared to Kosovo's main peers, neonatal mortality per 1,000 live births in Albania amounted to 6.90, 1.40 in Macedonia, 1.00 in Montenegro and 3.20 in Serbia in 2023.
Kosovo has been ranked 102nd within the group of 173 countries we follow in terms of neonatal mortality per 1,000 live births, 18 places below the position seen 10 years ago.
