Historically, maize production in Rwanda reached an all time high of 668 kt in 2013 and an all time low of 7.70 kt in 1963. When compared to Rwanda's main peers, maize production in Burundi amounted to 280 kt, 5,900 kt in Tanzania, 2,800 kt in Uganda and 2,284 kt in Dem. Republic of the Congo in 2022.
