Historically, maize production in Sri Lanka reached an all time high of 472 kt in 2021 and an all time low of 8.97 kt in 1962. When compared to Sri Lanka's main peers, maize production in India amounted to 33,730 kt, 63.2 kt in Malaysia, 0.147 kt in Maldives and 2,100 kt in Myanmar in 2022.
