Historically, maize production in Tanzania reached an all time high of 7,039 kt in 2021 and an all time low of 488 kt in 1970. When compared to Tanzania's main peers, maize production in Kenya amounted to 3,087 kt, 1,952 kt in Mozambique, 2,800 kt in Uganda and 2,706 kt in Zambia in 2022.
